Angkor Complex- UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE
9:00AM Visit Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom – “the World of Gods” that includes South Gate, the famous Bayon and Elephant terrace. Lots of time to break off hike and explore.
3:00PM Visit more sights before making your way to watch the sun set over this timeless site.
7:00PM Dinner at Butterflies Garden Restaurant
9:00PM At hotel- briefing on Cambodia recent development and history, and peace and conflict reconciliation by Boreth a Local NGO leader (Malia's Friend).

July 21st
Siem Reap/ Tonle Sap Lake
8:00AM Boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake, an ecological wonder. See the fishing activity, visit floating village of Kompong Khleang an environmental center.
5:00PM Exchange at Nyemo, an organization working to provide skill training support and job placement to Cambodian women.

9:00AM Banteay Srei is the only major temple at Angkor not built for a king, instead it was constructed by one of king Rajendravarman’s counselors, Yajnyavahara.
Lunch
3:00PM Visit the Wat Bo Pagoda. Then wander The Old Market is in the centre of Siem Reap town opposite the Siem Reap river. Visit Artisans D’Angkor was created to help young people find work in their home villages by teaching them different types of crafts.

July 23rd
Siem Reap – Si Phan Don
AM Visit the Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields. Then return for Lunch at Jacob’s Well before checking in for our flight.
PM Transfer to Laos via Pakse In the afternoon drive to the very edge of the Lao / Cambodia border to visit the 4,000 island group in the middle of the Mekong River. Prepare for a day of exploring tomorrow.

July 24th
4000 ISLANDS (SI PHAN DON) LI PHI FALLS – MEKONG DOLPHINS –
COLONIAL RAILWAY AND BRIDGE
9:00 AM Trip by boat to the largest waterfalls in Asia! Khone Phapeng & Li Phi Falls were the major obstacles which thwarted the French in their efforts to open the Mekong River to navigation. Here live 50-100 Irrawaddy (freshwater) dolphins. If lucky, see the reclusive and endangered Irrawaddy dolphin
(Orcaella brevirostris). This creature is found in a few locations in South and Southeast Asia. One of 3 exclusively freshwater populations lives in the deep water of the Mekong River between Laos and Cambodia. WWF has been spearheading ecotourism efforts to assist in protecting the dolphins.
3:00 PM See the small gauge railway and Colonial Bridge built by the French to circumnavigate the falls. Time to rest.
7:00PM Dinner at the hotel.

July 25th
DON DAENG ISLAND – 4,000 ISLANDS (SI PHAN DON)
9:00AM Take a long-tail Mekong River boat to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Khmer Temple complex of Wat Phou. This represents the easternmost border of the Khmer empire, (although the influence of the Khmers was felt deep into central Vietnam).
PM We transfer to Don Daeng, a peaceful island in the middle of the gently flowing Mekong River in southern Lao PDR is located inside the Vat Phou – Champassak Heritage Landscape – another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island is a tranquil environment with sandy beaches, the perfect starting off point for our nature discovery while enjoying the warm hospitality and friendly smiles of the local communities. Optional time for Bike Riding.

July 26th
DON DAENG ISLAND (Mekong River) FLY TO PAKSE – LUANG PRABANG –
UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE TEMPLES & THE TOWN OF LUANG PRABANG
AM Flight and Arrive Luang Phabang, the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afternoon enjoy walking through Luang Prabang. Visit Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa. Phou Sii hill stands right in the center of this small city. Climb its 350 steps to enjoy commanding views.Wat Phu Sii sits atop the mountain, along side the skeletons of Indochina war anti-aircraft guns! Then to visit Wat Mai, Wat Xieng Thong, and the National Museum, once a king's palace, where inside is a lovely collection of personal artifacts of the royal family, including photos, musical instruments, and many gifts received from the dignitaries of foreign countries.

July 27th
LUANG PRABANG – – KHUANG SII WATERFALL – LUANG PRABANG – SILK
AND MULBERRY VILLAGE – LUANG PRABANG
AM After breakfast, drive to the Khuang Sii Waterfall. The falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. Climb the stairs to look down from various high viewpoints on the way to the top. Swim, enjoy a picnic lunch in the beautiful setting.
PM Return to Luang Prabang and on the way visit 2 villages specializing in Silk and Mulberry Paper. Spend the day in a stunning Mekong riverside garden and prepare natural dyes and dye your own silk scarves. Learn about silk weaving, meet the silkworms and learn about the types of silk they produce. Try weaving and spinning on the demonstration looms.

July 28th
LUANG PRABANG – 1/2 DAY OCK POP TOK TEXTILE & NATURAL DYE
WORKSHOP
9:00 AM Next we learn about biodiversity in the area and visit to a Sunbear refuge and rescue center situated within the beautiful Tat Kuang Si Park just minutes from one of Laos most famous waterfalls. Enjoy seeing one of Laos’ most endangered species and also learn about the threats to bears and how they can help to protect Laos’ precious wildlife.

July 29th
LUANG PRABANG – 1/2 DAY ELEPHANT PARK PROJECT
9:00AM Visit the Elephant Park Project located in the middle of the mountaina. Its mission is the protection of the Asian Elephant. 1 hr. Elephant ride through forests and along the Nam Khan river, and then a short boat ride to the amazing Tad Sae waterfalls.
PM Spend the rest of the relaxing and enjoying exploring the town.
PM Visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre to learn about northern minority tribes before ending with a traditional private Baci Ceremony and enjoy our farewell dinner.

July 30th
Hanoi arrival

July 31th
Hanoi city tour, including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One PillarPagoda, Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university. In the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to on from the following museums: Ethnology Museum, Army Museum, National Fine Arts Museum, Hanoi Hilton prison or Vietnam Women Museum. End of the day with water puppet show.
Overnight train to Sapa.

August 1st
Arrive in Lao Cai railway station early morning. Picked up in Sapa for breakfast at Sapa Lotus Restaurant. You will have a trek through beautiful landscape surrounded by rice paddy terraces and mountains covered by rain forest under the protection of Hoang Lien National Park. Also you will hear about the life style and tradition of Black Hmong and Giay minorities. Visit Sapa market , Cat Cat village and then trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. After lunch, Muong Hoa valley, passing through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay people.
Overnight at a traditional house of Giay minority.

August 2nd
Breakfast, leave for Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao minority. Trek through the bamboo forest of Hoang Lien National Park. Pass by a waterfall, rest and enjoy the surroundings for lunch. After lunch,
continue toward Su Pan, a small village located by the road and then back to Lao Cai by car.
Overniight train to Hanoi.

August 3rd
Breakfast with “Pho” like the Hanoian then depart to Ninh Binh for about 2,5 hours through the fertile land of the Red River Delta. Take 2-hour sampan boat trip at Thung Nham or Thung Nang. This area is considered as “Inland Halong Bay” featured with karst formations. On the way back from the boat rowing, visit a temple before lunch. Car ride along the back roads through the beautiful scenery of towering karsts on the ground of ponds, rice paddies and rural villages to Hoa Lu Commune which was chosen as the capital of ancient Vietnam in the 10th century. Walk to visit a beautiful temple dedicated to a Vietnamese heroic king, Dinh Tien Hoang, who reigned the ancient Vietnam in the 10 century. Learn about the typical architecture of Vietnamese religious buildings and about Vietnamese history after a thousand years under the Chinese domination.

Return to Hanoi for the “food on foot” tour around the Old Quarter. Experience the local cuisines and learn about the daily life of Hanoian. Walk through different narrow streets in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Hear stories of the ingredients and history of Hanoi’s food culture and sample Northern Vietnamese cuisine e.g., crispy Hanoi “pillow” dumplings, varieties of sticky rice, yogurt with fermented wild rice, fried sour spring rolls ... end the day at a nice coffee shop famous with the “egg coffee” in the Old Quarter.
